Basketball Recap: Andrean Comes Up Short

Andrean has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 67-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hammond Central Wolves on Tuesday. The Fighting 59ers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Hammond Central had a senior duo take command as Marcus Browder dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten assists and Gregory Dotson to rack up 20 points and seven assists. Browder has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 25 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Semaj Davis, who posted nine points.

Andrean's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Hammond Central, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-12.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Andrean will challenge Wheeler at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hammond Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Valparaiso at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valparaiso is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season.
