Cody Gasseling Drops League-Best Performance on Friday
Starting off the list is East Valley's Cody Gasseling, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Gasseling rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. He is becoming a predictor of East Valley's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
East Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Gasseling will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Quincy on Friday.

Grandview's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to Nathan Montes De Oca
Nathan Montes De Oca helped snap Grandview's 14-game losing streak dating back to last season. Montes De Oca produced his best game of the campaign on Friday: he rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
Grandview's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. Montes De Oca and Grandview will face off against Tri-Cities Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Prosser Gets a Boost from Rainer in 26-7 Win
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Jacob Rainer stepped things up a notch to give Prosser the 'W'. Othello had no answer to Rainer as he rushed for 20 yards and four touchdowns, and also threw for 181 yards on 16 of 23 attempts.
For the season, Rainer has averaged 209.4 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 9.71 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 38.29 rushing yards.

Greyson Stevens Makes It Two for East Valley
The second East Valley player making an appearance here is Greyson Stevens, and for good reason. He picked up 87 receiving yards and a touchdown. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 68 yards.
If history really does repeat itself, Stevens might just drop another big game when he faces off against Quincy on Friday. Stevens picked up 167 receiving yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Jackrabbits duked it out back in September of 2023.

Ezequiel Ramirez Makes Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Ezequiel Ramirez of Toppenish. Ramirez picked up two sacks, forced a fumble, and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).
For the year, Ramirez has averaged 7.6 total tackles per game and for the season has 8 sacks.
