Softball Game Preview: Somerset Bulldogs vs. John F. Kennedy Rockets

The Somerset Bulldogs will challenge the John F. Kennedy Rockets at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Somerset will be strutting in after a victory while John F. Kennedy will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Somerset got the win against Cotulla by a conclusive 9-2.

Kourtney Rios was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Karlet Sanchez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, John F. Kennedy was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 11-0 to La Vernia.

Somerset is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for John F. Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
