Softball Game Preview: John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers vs. Jasper Vikings

The John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers will challenge the Jasper Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. John Carroll Catholic will be strutting in after a victory while Jasper will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, John Carroll Catholic got the win against Sipsey Valley by a conclusive 7-1. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Jasper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Winfield. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since February 27th.

Emersyn Haney and Lexi Kilgore did some serious damage despite the final result: Haney went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Kilgore went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of America Montgomery, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

John Carroll Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 11-19. As for Jasper, their loss dropped their record down to 18-13.
