Soccer Game Preview: Glenbrook South vs. Libertyville

The Glenbrook South Titans will take on the Libertyville Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Glenbrook South sitting on three straight wins and Libertyville on eight.

Glenbrook South is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand Stevenson a 1-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Glenbrook South were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Palatine kept up with Libertyville until halftime on Friday, but afterwards: not so much. The Wildcats blew past the Pirates 5-1. The result was nothing new for Libertyville, who have now won ten matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Palatine with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Shea Krakowski (3), Charlotte Harrison, and Danica Meller.

Libertyville's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those five games. As for Glenbrook South, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6-5.

Glenbrook South couldn't quite get it done against Libertyville in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 2-0. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
