Elgin had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They blew past the Shawnee Wolves 7-1. That's more bragging rights for the Owls, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Brody Morrison, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Mason Thornton was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Elgin's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Shawnee, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
