Volleyball Recap: Rylee Dahlgren Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Bayfield

While South Shore's victory against Bayfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Trollers on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Trollers: they've now won five in a row.

South Shore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rylee Dahlgren, who had six aces and four digs. Those six aces gave Dahlgren a new career-high. Chalee Luzzatto was another key player, getting ten digs and five blocks.

They weren't the only good server: South Shore was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive contests.

South Shore's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7.

South Shore has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Drummond on the 8th. As for Bayfield, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Solon Springs at 5:45 p.m. The match will give the Trollers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
