Softball Recap: Reed-Custer Comes Up Short

Reed-Custer suffered their closest loss since April 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Peotone Blue Devils by a score of 3-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on Monday.

This is the second loss in a row for Reed-Custer and nudges their season record down to 9-10. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Peotone, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Reed-Custer will challenge Coal City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Peotone, they will square off against Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
