Softball Game Preview: Hanson Beavers vs. Winner Warriors

The Hanson Beavers will venture away from home to take on the Winner Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Winner took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Hanson, who comes in off a win.

Hanson proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 20) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Bon Homme 7-5. The seven-run effort marked the Beavers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Winner came up short against Mobridge-Pollock on Thursday and fell 13-10. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Maree Pravecek was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Katie Pederson, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Hanson's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Winner, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Hanson got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Winner by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
