Volleyball Recap: Axtell Comes Up Short

Axtell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.

Emily Danburg paced Axtell's offense, picking up seven kills. Danburg got some help from Madison Wells and her eight assists.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller found their leader in sophomore Lily Hrasky, who had 16 digs.

Axtell now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-5.

Axtell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Pleasanton on the 14th. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Overton on the 14th.
