Softball Recap: Emerson Find Success

Emerson won the last time they faced Liberty and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mavericks walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Redhawks. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mavericks.

Addison Hudnall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Savannah Carleton, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Lauren Short was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Emerson's record is now 16-7-1. As for Liberty, they moved to 14-6 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Emerson nor the Redhawks have any future games scheduled.
