Gila Ridge hasn't had much luck on the road recently (they'd lost three straight) but thanks in part to Kayla McCarrell that streak is no more. The Gila Ridge Hawks skirted past the Yuma Criminals 38-36 thanks to McCarrell, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Garner, who posted seven points and ten boards. What's more, she also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024.

Gila Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Yuma, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Gila Ridge has already played their next game, a 39-11 win against San Luis on the 7th. As for Yuma, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-54 victory against Cortez on the 12th.
