Basketball Game Preview: Beaverton Beavers vs. Southridge Skyhawks

The Beaverton Beavers will head out to take on the Southridge Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Beaverton took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Liberty with points to spare, taking the game 66-52. The victory was some much needed relief for the Beavers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Southridge had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They managed a 69-64 win over the Gophers. Given the Skyhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Gophers are ranked 104th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southridge's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Beaverton, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-8.

Beaverton beat Southridge 64-56 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Does Beaverton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
