Baseball Game Preview: Wheaton Academy Warriors vs. Boylan Catholic Titans

The Wheaton Academy Warriors will face off against the Boylan Catholic Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wheaton Academy will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

On Saturday, Wheaton Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Sycamore, taking the game 7-3.

Nathanael Switzer looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dom Murrell, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Braden Christensen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Wheaton Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Boylan Catholic rose to the challenge on Saturday. They skirted past the Comets 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since May 1st.

Wheaton Academy's record is now 29-8. As for Boylan Catholic, their record now sits at 23-14.
