Softball Game Preview: Sanborn Regional Indians vs. Pelham Pythons

The Sanborn Regional Indians will challenge the Pelham Pythons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Sanborn Regional couldn't beat Kingswood on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Indians fell just short of the Knights by a score of 8-7. The Indians have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Hannah Lambert made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Boyd, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Pelham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against ConVal, falling 13-1.

Pelham's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Sanborn Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything went Sanborn Regional's way against Pelham when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Sanborn Regional made off with a 14-2 victory. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pythons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
