Basketball Recap: Boyd-Buchanan Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Boyd-Buchanan waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Gulf Breeze Dolphins by a score of 74-61.

Boyd-Buchanan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Asa Fortune out in front who posted 20 points. Another player making a difference was Hudson Jones, who earned 17 points.

Gulf Breeze lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brennen Hill, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 19 points. His big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Yelton, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 17 points.

Boyd-Buchanan's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Gulf Breeze, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 10-4 record.

Coming up, Boyd-Buchanan will be taking part in a tournament against Signal Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.38 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Gulf Breeze, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fort Walton Beach at 7:30 p.m. on January 13, 2026.
