Soccer Game Preview: Byron Nelson vs. Bell

The Byron Nelson Bobcat will venture away from home to challenge the Bell Blue Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Byron Nelson will be strutting in after a victory while Bell will be coming in after a loss.

Byron Nelson is headed into the game having not lost since February 14 and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Northwest a 6-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Bobcat have won nine matches by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Bell lost 8-1 to Southlake Carroll on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Blue Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Dragons are ranked sixth).

Byron Nelson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Bell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11-1 record this season.

Everything went Byron Nelson's way against Bell in their previous meeting back in February, as Byron Nelson made off with a 5-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Byron Nelson since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
