Preview: Doniphan Dons vs. Alton Comets
The Doniphan Dons will head out on the road to face off against the Alton Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Doniphan is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
Doniphan pushed their score all the way to 60 last Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Twin Rivers by a score of 62-60.
Meanwhile, even though Summersville scored an imposing 71 points on Tuesday, Alton still came out on top. Alton secured a 75-71 W over Summersville. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Alton.
Doniphan's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Alton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Doniphan was taken down by Alton 71-43 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Doniphan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
