During the opening weeks of the season, sons of former San Francisco 49ers were instrumental in leading their respective teams to victory. Joe Montana’s son Nick led Oaks Christian to a 35-7 victory over Bakersfield Christian, Tim McDonald’s son Tim J. led Edison to a 69-10 victory over Madera and Jerry Rice’s son Jerry Rice Jr. led Menlo School to a 21-17 win over Hamilton.
These heroics prompted us to consider the remarkable achievements of San Francisco 49er alumni offspring. Here’s a look at our list of the top 10 former 49ers and their athletic progeny.
