Softball Recap: North Haven Takes a Loss

North Haven extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-9 in the process. They lost 8-2 to the Amity Regional Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Nighthawks have suffered against the Spartans since April 14, 2021.

Emelia Brandi was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Amity Regional, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Considering they have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Amity Regional's side, Gabby Celozzi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Sydney Delpo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Angelina Charbonneau, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Haven will host Law at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Amity Regional, they will be playing at home against Darien at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
