Baseball Game Preview: Greenwood Indians vs. Alma Center Lincoln Hornets

The Greenwood Indians will head out to challenge the Alma Center Lincoln Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Greenwood comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Greenwood's last matchup with Neillsville/Granton could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Indians came up short against the Warriors, falling 17-2.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Alma Center Lincoln and Melrose-Mindoro have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Hornets took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.

Alma Center Lincoln saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Skaar, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run marked the first that Skaar has scored this season.

Alma Center Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Greenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything went Greenwood's way against Alma Center Lincoln in their previous meeting back in May of 2021, as Greenwood made off with a 24-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
