After a string of four wins, West Bend West's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Waukesha West Wolverines by a score of 2-1. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

West Bend West started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-16, 15-13.

Ella Miller paced West Bend West's offense, picking up seven kills. Miller were helped by Morgan Winkler and Ella Henschel, who contributed ten assists each. Winkler was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Waukesha West had a senior duo take command as Gracie Fregien had 19 digs and two aces and Ruby Friess had 15 assists and six digs.

West Bend West's defeat dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Waukesha West, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-8.

West Bend West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Cedarburg on the 2nd. As for Waukesha West, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Muskego on the 30th.
