Softball Recap: Nipomo Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Nipomo came into Tuesday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Atascadero Greyhounds on Tuesday. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ava Camacho spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Arianna Lanier was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Van Muysen, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Nipomo's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Atascadero, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Nipomo will challenge Coastal Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Atascadero, they will venture away from home to square off against Paso Robles at 4:30 p.m. on March 18th.
