Veterans Memorial has gone a perfect 5-0 against San Benito recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Chargers will be playing at home against the Greyhounds at 6:30 p.m.

Veterans Memorial came up short against Los Fresnos on Tuesday, falling 10-1. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Veterans Memorial saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Vela, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Sergio Sosa also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Benito). They put the hurt on Marine Military Academy with a sharp 17-3 win on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Greyhounds needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Gabriel Covarrubias was a standout: he scored a run while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Maurio Arizpe, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Veterans Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for San Benito, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Everything went Veterans Memorial's way against San Benito when the teams last played back in March of 2019, as Veterans Memorial made off with a 7-1 win. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Greyhounds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
