After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Johnson County Central, Johnson-Brock was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Palmyra Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.
Johnson-Brock had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-19, 25-17.
Their offense was headlined by Charlotte Metschke and Kasie Knippelmeyer, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Kinley Vice and her 24 assists. Knippelmeyer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Johnson-Brock is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Palmyra, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
