West Phoenix came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Maricopa Institute of Technology Iron Eagles, falling 3-0.

While West Phoenix was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-3.

West Phoenix has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Maricopa Institute of Technology, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

While West Phoenix had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
