Volleyball Recap: Cary Christian's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Cary Christian came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Grace Christian Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Cary Christian was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-12, 25-21.

Presley Osborn paced Cary Christian's offense, picking up nine kills. Osborn got some help from Savannah Shiley and her 12 assists.

Among those leading the charge was Gracie Canaday, who had 11 digs and three aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cary Christian fell to 2-1. As for Grace Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Cary Christian has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Thales Academy Rolesville on the 22nd. As for Grace Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against John Paul II Catholic on the 25th.
