The Plant Panthers will face off against the Riverview Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Plant is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let Armwood get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. Considering the Panthers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Plant got a great performance from Summer Wood as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Wood a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
On the hitting side, Kate Compton was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Marina Waygood, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Plant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Riverview entered their tilt with Sickles on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 15-11 victory over the Gryphons.
The team relied heavily on Juliet Sederio, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Girard, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Riverview pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Plant, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Plant came out on top in a nail-biter against Riverview in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sharks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
