Baseball Recap: Moniteau Warriors vs. Clarion-Limestone Lions
After losing to Clarion-Limestone the last time they met, Moniteau decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Warriors put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 11-1 win on Monday. Considering the Warriors have won three matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Dawson Cook made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Kayne Scott was a standout: he scored a run while going 2-for-3. Blaine Jamison also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Moniteau always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clarion-Limestone only posted an OBP of .211.
Moniteau's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Clarion-Limestone, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
