Meanwhile, Orestimba was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Hilmar, falling 3-0.
While Orestimba was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Hilmar's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-21, 25-23.
Hughson's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Orestimba, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.
