Baseball Recap: Tampa Catholic Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Tampa Catholic was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Talan Miranda looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cole Bitman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. He also scored a run, marking his first of the season. Jose Carrero was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Tampa Catholic lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Coming up, Tampa Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Tampa Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Admiral Farragut at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Admiral Farragut is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
