Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ponder). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Gainesville Leopards a 13-0 shutout on Saturday. The Lions not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 3, 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Ponder and bumps their season record up to 6-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Gainesville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ponder will face off against Boyd at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Gainesville, they will take on Bonham at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Leopards are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
