Softball Preview: Jefferson Dragons vs. Cherokee Bluff Bears
Jefferson has enjoyed the comforts of home their last seven games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will venture away from home to take on the Cherokee Bluff Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Jefferson's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against East Hall as Jefferson made off with a 7-0 victory.
Meanwhile, Cherokee Bluff waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over the Spartans.
Bailey Greason looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.
On the hitting side, Claire Carlson was incredible, going 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and a triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August. Kaitlyn Benitez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
