Baseball Recap: Patrick Henry Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Patrick Henry Academy had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks on Tuesday. The Patriots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Sims Brunson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Brunson was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Rylin Brunson was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Jacob Corley, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Patrick Henry Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Colleton Prep Academy only posted an OBP of .429.

Patrick Henry Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Colleton Prep Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.
