Baseball Recap: St. Bonaventure Comes Up Short

St. Bonaventure lost against Thousand Oaks back in April of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The St. Bonaventure Seraphs fell just short of the Thousand Oaks Lancers by a score of 7-5.

Jason De La Paz put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

De La Paz wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Byrd, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Aman Singh also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

St. Bonaventure suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Thousand Oaks, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

While St. Bonaventure had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
