Baseball Recap: Hawthorne Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hawthorne's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-0 to the Lawndale Cardinals, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Cougars have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meetings.

Hawthorne's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lawndale, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Hawthorne Cougars challenge Animo City of Champions Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Lawndale, they will head out on the road to take on Morningside at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
