Basketball Recap: Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart Piles Up the Points Against Killian

Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Killian Cougars, posting a 76-48 victory. The Cyclones have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Sela Travieso had an outrageously good game as she went 8-for-14 on her way to 22 points in addition to six assists and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Josephine Salazar, who went 5-for-11 en route to 12 points along with six boards and four steals.

Travieso wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points over those games. As for Killian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4.

Coming up, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart will face off against Pine Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Crest will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart surely won't give up without a fight.
