With a playoff win on the line, Clyde rose to the challenge on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Blanco Panthers 6-4. The victory was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on six straight.

Sterling Wilson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Hagan, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Another was Landon Deal, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Clyde's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Blanco, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Clyde by a score of 3-1 on Saturday.
