Basketball Recap: Rossville Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Rossville had won three straight road games and Ava Burkle did her part to make it four on Tuesday. The Rossville Hornets came out on top against the Frontier Falcons by a score of 48-37 thanks in part to Burkle, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 23 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Rossville's points.

Another player making a difference was Avery Layton, who posted nine points along with five boards and three steals. Those three steals gave her a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Frontier still got an impressive performance from Ashlyn Minniear, who had 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Minniear has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Tatum Lear also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Rossville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Frontier, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Rossville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-43 loss against Clinton Central on the 24th. As for Frontier, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-19 win against North Newton on the 27th.
