Baseball Recap: Woodside Takes a Loss

Woodside blew Menlo School out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Menlo School got their revenge. The Wildcats fell just short of the Knights by a score of 5-3. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cruz Torres and Anderson Comfort did some serious damage despite the final result: Torres went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Comfort went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Comfort has become a key player for Woodside: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-12 otherwise.

Woodside's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Menlo School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Menlo School beat Woodside by a score of 23-9 on Thursday.
