Soccer Game Preview: Linden vs. Manteca

The Linden Lions will take on the Manteca Buffaloes in a tournament on Saturday. Linden's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Linden challenged Tokay on Friday. The Lions fell 2-0 to the Tigers. That's two games in a row now that Linden have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Manteca kept a clean sheet against Millennium on Friday. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 4-0 win. Considering Manteca's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit Millennium with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Rogelio Leon (2), Mateo Esparza, and Kevin Mundo.

Linden's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Manteca, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0-1.

Linden beat Manteca 2-0 in their previous meeting back in December of 2016. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buffaloes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
