Recap: Cedar Valley Aviators vs. Springville Red Devils
The Cedar Valley Aviators have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 39-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Springville. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cedar Valley has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Cedar Valley had strong showings from Hadley Whiting, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Ellie Larson, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Whiting has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Kaaihue, who scored ten points.
Springville was led to victory by Halle Hall and Natalie Florence. Hall scored 11 points along with eight rebounds, while Florence shot 4-for-5 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Florence has scored all season.
Cedar Valley's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Springville, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Valley will take on the Wasps at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Wasatch will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Springville, they will head out on the road to challenge the Thunderbirds at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Timpview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
