Softball Game Preview: Waskom Wildcats vs. Carlisle Indians

The Waskom Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Carlisle Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Waskom came up short against Ore City on Friday, falling 14-4. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Waskom saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Fussell, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Carlisle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 28th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-3 to Elysian Fields.

Carlisle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-23. As for Waskom, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Waskom couldn't quite finish off Carlisle in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 and fell 9-7. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
