Soccer Game Preview: Longmont vs. Liberty Common

The Longmont Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Liberty Common Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Longmont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

On Tuesday, Longmont beat Fort Morgan 3-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Longmont's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Fort Morgan are ranked 206th).

Longmont hit Fort Morgan with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Claire Sebring, Ella Erwin, and Kylissa Kirk.

Meanwhile, Liberty Common came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Vikings 11-1. The result was nothing new for Liberty Common, who have now won five games by five goals or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Longmont and bumps their season record up to 9-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those two matchups. As for Liberty Common, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
