Baseball Recap: Devine Takes a Loss

Devine was the 10-9 winner over Uvalde when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Devine Warhorses fell just short of the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Karter Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Devine's loss dropped their record down to 5-4-1. As for Uvalde, they pushed their record up to 9-2-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Devine will venture away from home to take on Jefferson at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Uvalde, they will face off against Somerset at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Uvalde is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
