High Desert recap October 1, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in High Desert this week, Frazier Mountain beat Flintridge Prep 36-29. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Falcons.
Kern Valley moved up to 417 from 451 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Broncs were able to move up by beating Big Bear 21-16.
Ricky Herrera made the biggest impact on defense this week as Rosamond lost to Chadwick. He.
Dalton Gallis was a passing and rushing force as Kern Valley topped Big Bear. He completed 10 passes for 158 yards and also ran for 102 yards. Gallis' key target this week was Cody Little, who caught 3 passes for 80 yards.
Riley Daniels was the best running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 132 yards as Frazier Mountain bested Dave Griffiths' team. Teammate Matt Regan added to the ground attack by rushing for 81 yards.
The Broncs' Gallis and Little led High Desert in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Gallis has thrown for 1,023 yards this season, while Little has 13 catches for 293 yards. Russell Heasley's team's Daniels leads the league in rushing yards with 529.
The Roadrunners fell to the Dolphins 56-20 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ian Bowen threw for 152 yards and ran for 69 yards in the defeat.
