Platt took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Maloney, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Spartans on Monday. While Platt didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-14-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Platt has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-1-1 record this season. As for Maloney, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5-1.

Coming up, Platt will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Hartford Public at 6:00 p.m. Platt will need to watch out since Hartford Public have now posted at least four goals in their last three games. As for Maloney, they will head out to challenge Newington at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
