Basketball Recap: Omaha Central Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Omaha Central had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-46 win over the Pius X Thunderbolts. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Omaha Central was led to victory by Lenox Haynes and Evan Rodgers. Haynes went 9 of 19 en route to 26 points and five boards, while Rodgers went 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. KJ McMorris also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Omaha Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Omaha Central's record is now 7-5. As for Pius X, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Omaha Central Eagles face off against the Bellevue West Thunderbirds at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Pius X, they will square off against Papillion-LaVista at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Papillion-LaVista is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
