Basketball Preview: Discovery Titans vs. Duluth Wildcats
The Discovery Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Duluth Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Discovery has now lost 19 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but Discovery had to settle for a 48-45 loss against the Mustangs.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Duluth, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-42 loss to the Patriots on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Duluth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Patriots are ranked 23rd).
Discovery's defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Duluth, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
Discovery ended up a good deal behind the Wildcats in their previous meeting back in January, losing 55-39. Can Discovery avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
