Softball Recap: North Central Takes a Loss

If North Central was riding high fresh off their 16-4 takedown of Pike on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers came up short against the Lawrence North Wildcats on Thursday, falling 15-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Kaia Pantos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Samantha Saalfrank, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

North Central's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-7-1. As for Lawrence North, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Central will venture away from home to challenge Kokomo at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lawrence North, they will head out to square off against Zionsville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
